According to what I have read I will need alot of practice since I was taught only the Thumb under method. I would like to learn the TO method so that I have more options but I really dont understand this fully from just reading. (wish I could afford a teacher). I was hoping that someone can word athis in a way that I will understand. Below seems confusing as to what they are saying. Especially this part (you cannot hold the 3 or 4 finger until the thumb passes over) what??? makes no sense to me. any iput is greatly appreciated

Now consider the RH, C major ascending scale. This is played 1231234,etc. In the TO method, the thumb is played just like the 3 and 4 fingers for the descending scale; i.e., over the 3 or 4 finger. However, you cannot hold the 3 or 4 finger until the thumb passes over because the thumb will collide with it; therefore, the 3 or 4 finger must be quickly moved away as the thumb comes down.
