It would be good if the MIDI files had the piano staffs as separate tracks. I want to transpose some of the pieces so I am loding the MIDI into Musescore. This is a problem with the piano track since all notes show up in one staff.

Hi,

If you try loading the MIDI into either Notation Composer or Notation Musician, any additional staves will be created and you will be notified. Unfortunately, neither of these is free and if you want to save the amended version you will need to buy the more expensive Notation Composer. I hope that helps.

Try MidiSheetMusic 2.3 http://midisheetmusic.sourceforge.net/ This is a free program that will take midi files and give you sheet music on both staffs if that's what you want. It also has the piano keyboard so you can see the notes as they are played.
