I know next to nothing about reading sheet music and my son is learning violin. At the moment, he is learning with the letter notes written above the sheet music. What has gotten him excited about violin is the fact that his teacher has been teaching them some non-classical along with the standards like Ode to Joy, Twinkle Twinkle etc. He first learned "We Will Rock You" by Queen. Well, we saw The Lego Movie, and during his first practice, after the movie - it happened..."Mom, it would be awesome to play Everything is Awesome, on my violin!" So - does anyone know where I can get a few lines with the letter notes transcribed above the musical notes for a beginner? Thanks in advance for keeping the inspiration alive!
