I play the soprano, alto, tenor and bari saxes. I`m 16 and have been playing for 7 years. My main instrument is the Alto Sax; I have a Selmer Series III Pro Sax. I already have done numerous sax exams studying classical however I want to broaden my range to jazz and other styles. I currently have a Selmer C* mouthpiece which is good to an extent, however it wont let me obtain a clearer crisper sound like a Meyer or a metal mouthpiece. I want to know what mouthpiece / brand / type of mouthpiece I would need to obtain a clear, crisp tone that the saxophone is so famous for. For example Kenny G, has a clear, strong tone that I’m looking for. What are my options? I have the horn, but not the mouthpiece. Which should I get? Metal, Hard Rubber, Plastic.
Thanks
