Hey fellow trumpet players,
I`m an 8th grader and I`m madly attempting to get a solo in with a high g in it (not the one directly above the staff but one more up) Is it possible to get there from an E maximum in a matter of a couple months? If so, what should I do?

Practing is what it takes and it depends and how much you practice. one way is by doing lip excerises. you start out on G then to A and back down to G rest four counts then start on A go up to B and then back down to A rest four counts. B to C back down to B rest four counts. and by now you should get how it goes. Slur these notes do not tounge them. keep your lips stiff like you are playing the trumpet durning the rests and go all the way you can go and if you cant go no more rest for 1 or 2 minutes and then start agian were you stoped at and try again and if you cant do it no more stop. do the excerise every other day.

ive been playing since i was in 4th grade. it is not hard to get higher notes heres my system
1) warm up - so you can play your best
2) make sure you can breathe the heavy breathys needed
3)do a scale like holding down all three pistons starting on the lowest note you can hit go up one step then every three steps you go down one then up three then fown one or keep them open and to this
c,g,c,g,c,e,c,e,g,e,g,c,g and go as high as you can just dont force it!!! you can hurt your self practice and try to get higher after each time!
