I am a big advocate of using a trumpet mouthpiece with a bent stem because of the enhanced appearance and sound projection that this affords. I cannot find a satisfying answer to the question of "getting a severe bend (appraoching 45 degrees) on a trumpet mouthpiece". Yes, I personally would benefit from such a large bend.
Generally, I get 2 negative replies to this request:
1) Work on you embrochure, join the circus . . .
OR
2) This is an unreasonable request. The risk of snapping the stem is so great that you might as well forget it.
Does anyone know of a more hopeful response to my quest to get a 40 - 45 degree bend on the stem of a trumpet mouthpiece? Does a mouthpiece manufacturer (perhaps Bach) have a mold that would provide such a mouthpiece?
Thanks. Greg
