Does anyone know about an Armstrong Emeritus 70 model? It is solid silver with solid gold lip- I am looking at buying one and unfortuately I cannot find any details about the model anywhere- nor can i find anyone who sells one. The have apparently replaced/are in line wiht the Heritage models. In regard to my preference, Im still looking- my favourites at the moment are Pearl - but im not a fan of either Yamaha or the Jupiter/replica Altus models that ar ein the market. It is the flute player that makes the flute not the flute itself. I have a really, really old student yamaha that has done me well in its time but it is time for me to upgrade. I think that if you are going to buy a flute whether that be for yourself or your child then you should try a wide range and dont buy the first thing you see. Dont ask about prices- or ask the sales person to round up a variety in your level of budget. I once tried a Pearl intermediate that I actually prefered over the Pro. model- the difference was that the pro modle was solid silver!!!

I know you posted this ages ago, but I was online trying to get information on an Armstrong Emeritus Model 70 flute when I was directed by Google to your post. My flute does not have a gold lip, but the head is solid silver. As far I can remember the rest is just silver plate.
I bought it back in the 70's and I'm trying to get some information on it, but thus far I haven't been able to find anything. I went on the Armstrong website, but haven't found any information about this flute.
I just thought you might be interested, and I was also wondering if you ever got any information on this model.
