Well, it helps to know what you`re currently playing on. Then we can go from there.

And what you plan on using it for (marching, concerts, solos, orchestra, etc.)

Britanny,

We have lives, too. We can`t respond to your questions as soon as you ask them. Also, if you didn`t already notice, this is a general forum. Generally, you should post messages like this in the corresponding instrument forum (flute, in this case), so you get more help with your questions. Also, don`t type in all capital letters. It is not only very annoying, but ineffective.

Sorry, but I don`t have any information regarding your query. As you can see, I play alto sax. Good luck with this.

Most people like to stick to the student models for marching because they can take more of a beating than the professional models. In other words they`re made to last. On the other hand if you`re looking for better quality in sound and performance, it`s best to go with a professional model. Yahama student models are very reputable and in my opinion one of the best brands for student models. As for their professional models, I can`t tell what they`re like. There are other brands out there. It all depends on what you want to spend and the availability of the flutes.

One more thing, it is best that you go to a music store and try the flutes out. That way you get what YOU want.

This is to Thomas (alto sax). I think that your post was rude, and if you didnt have any information to give brittney, than u shouldnt have posted. my question is, if you play "alto sax", then why did u even go into this forum and reply? And who cares if she types in caps, it dosnt matter! Try to keep the forums nice, and dont pick on the little things like capital letters!

Brittney: I agree with M.A., you should go to the music store and try out the flutes...what ever feels most comforable for you, is best for you!
from,
Kelly
