I`ve never heard of the "Venus" co. in my life until looking on ebay for a piccolo. Is it a real co. Should I buy one?

Plain and simple, no. No repair man will even touch them when it breaks. I myself will not even work on them. And it will break. The metal is very soft on them and will bend very easily causing it to go out of adjustment. It is a shame that they even offer such instruments on ebay. They are more or less toys. Play it safe, get a well known brand that you can trust.
A student of mine purchased one without my knowledge and the lower register would not even play. It was horrible. I made sure that she sent it back.

I have seen those on ebay, too, and, just as KC said...STAY AWAY!!!
One, the person who is selling them is selling them for another reason than just to clear out stuff; Two, I have heard and seen so many bad things about them...My own school bought one once and one of the keys broke off right in the middle of a parade. Go with a Yamaha if you are looking for a nice piccolo.

Venus piccolo - well actually I like mine and it plays fine thank you. I suppose it depends on what you are looking for. If you want to try one out before spending hundreds of pounds on a posh one and then finding out it`s not for you, then this is ok. I bought mine for fun, it`s not my main instrument.
