Ok, who here thinks there should be a piccolo forum on 8notes?
Some people might think, well piccolos are mostly the same as flute, but I think that piccolos are way different, and should be treated differently. We should even get a bass clarinet forum, and not to forget, a french horn forum.

I don`t.
In the broader scheme of things, the issues for flute and piccolo overlap so much that having separate forums would be like having at least 7 separate forums for saxophone: sopranino, soprano, C-melody, alto, tenor, baritone, bass, etc, or separate forums for Bb clarinet and A clarinet.
People with a lot of knowledge in areas covering both piccolo and flute would be far less likely to visit at all, if discussion became this fragmented.
What is wrong with a few piccolo threads included in the flute forum?
What I think should happen is to move this entire forum into a format such as on saxontheweb.net, where the old threads are not lost, where there is a search facility, and where there much better access to unread posts.

That forum format ALSO has the facility for correcting errors in posts after they have been posted.
And for those who like pretty icons, there is a whole heap to choose from.
YOu will note that although it is a saxophone forum, there is a `doubling` section specifically for flute/piccolo, which behaves as a reasonably lively flute/piccolo forum in its own right, with several pretty clued-up contributors. The monitoring is at about the same level as 8notes currently is.

I agree with Arak (wow, I bet some people thought that they would never hear that!)
I do not like it when people say that piccolo and flute are the same, but I do not believe there is so much of a difference that we need a seperate forum. We cover piccolo problems here, never really turning any question away, so why should we have to go to two places when most flutists know enough about both piccolo and flute to answer the questions in one spot.
I know that I would not really check up on the piccolo forum as much as I would the flute forum because it is convenient to have both instruments in the same place.(Im not lazy or any thing...it would just be too much...)
