I was wondering, i have a Juptier Flute that i got from my birthday and love it. I brought it to school that day and this girl with a Selmer flute said that Jupiter is a cheap brand b/c it is sol on ebay and a low price. Is she right? is Jupiter a bad brand?

I personnally don`t think ebay prices are something to go by since most of the products are probably not genuine.
Jupiter has always been a good brand for me. Especially over a selmer

Don`t worry about what she says. Jupiter is a fine flute for what you need at the moment. There are really junk ones on ebay that top the cake, and Jupiter is not one of them.
I think that Selmer is way worse! I hate selmer flutes!!

Does she says this b/c she is jealous?
I think i have a great flute. I got it from a professional dealer so they wouldn`t say my a cheap flute right?

My guess would be, yes. Do you play better than her? Maybe that is also why. Some people just like to be jerks, I would just ignore her.

Many people think that Jupiter is a bad brand solely because they are made in Taiwan. Yes they are made in Taiwan but in a state of the art facility ahead of many American instrument making facilities. Jupiter USED to be a junk brand but they have made many improvements and now make excellent beginner, intermediate, and even professional instruments, Hope this answers your question. Best Regards,Chris

Relax,I`m sure it`s a matter of insecurity. Her Selmer is probably just fine for her, as your Jupiter is just fine for you. We flute players tend to forget that there are many different factors to take into account when determining a "good" flute. What works for one person may not work for another.
In my opinion, a well-adjusted decent human being would never tell someone that their flute is junk. If you were seeking the opinion of an established expert tech, who was able to personnaly appraise your flute with you, at your request, then you would(should) hear unbiased/unemotional information. Beyond that, "Opinions are like...everyone has one.
