I just found out that it is actually possible to play F#7 and G7 on the flute. Click on this link if you don`t believe me.

I just played them, and they work, on my low C flute. But for me, the sound is pretty terrible, and I use up almost a whole lungful of air (around 9 pints)in less than a second!
