IM BACK, hopefully for good...
I own a DC PRO Flute, and find it a very reliable, beautifully made flute. Dominic is from America, Arak, and, like KC, I have spoken to him personally over the phone; a very nice man... I was a bit nervous about my DC PRO when I first got it, but just because it was never heard of before by a few people does not mean that it is a poor brand. I would suggest an Armstrong, personally, but if anyone is truly interested in a DC PRO, check them out...
I was debating on coming back or not, but I promised Kara I would, so here I am. I hope that I can log in regularly now that my computer is fixed and my schedule is a bit more stable than what it was in the summer. I am glad to be back!!!

Yes, Dominic is from/in America, but that has nothing to do with the source of these instruments.
If I buy order $5000 worth of woodwind instruments from China for sale, I can get the maker to engrave any name on it I like, which is almost certainly exactly what Dominic is doing.
Watch out for the "Arak" flute. I will rave about how wonderful it is, all over the internet, and pay a few players and friends to do likewise. I will not publicise what country it is made in, and I will not tell you the special features, such as sloppy pivots or soft metal, or failing soldering, or pads that last only months... those things that will eventually cost the buyer so much money they may well wish they had not bought it. In a few years the actual value of the instrument may well be $0, even after spending a lot on servicing. Anything, as long as I am making 100 to 300 percent profit on each instrument!
Why am I not doing this? A simple issue of integrity. I am pretty much aware of all these issues, and would not market such items without telling the REAL truth as I know it. If I did that, my market would be VERY small!
But there are dozens if not several hundreds of people doing exactly that, right now. We have discussed quite a few in this forum just in the last few months.
There are a wide range of such brand names in USA never seen in other countries, and vice versa.
I am not saying that this is exactly what Dominic is doing, but the odds are fairly high.
I do not wish to undermine your happiness with your flute, but in an open forum, you can expect naivety to be countered.
I sure hope you are still Happy with it for many years, that it keeps value, and that the longer-term maintenance is acceptably low.

I don`t know about his flutes, but I find his ads are kind or irriating.
I am sure he is a really nice person, but in his ads he sounds like a used car sales man. Lol!

Thanks Kara! I feel like a fool, constantly leaving and then coming back, but life throws you curves sometimes! Yes, Arak sounds like a used car sales man, and I don`t like the fact that he is constantly suspecting the worst of people, but he does have a point. My flute is engraved with MADE IN CHINA right under a bar where it might be hidden from unsuspecting eyes, but Dominic seems like a nice man and I don`t really care where it comes from, as long as it performs how I want it to with few to no problems.

Yes, rude. My sentiments exactly. It is really disgusting when someone has to put others down like that.

If he is THAT rude, then instead of bleating about it, just report every rude post, and the moderator will quickly remove it.

Or, you can report it and get your point across to everyone else that you think that it is unacceptable behavior. Nothing wrong with that.
Sometimes people don`t see when they are being rude to others and need to be told.

Ah, the story of this forum...
I hold DC PRO`s better than some. I had to take mine in as soon as I got it, but it has not been misbehaving since (could be because I have been playing piccolo lately....)

And I have noticed the increased popularity of discussion about DC PRO`s...I remember not many people knew what I was talking about when I said a had one a year and a half ago....
