Amazon.com is now selling instruments! That is good, However, they are DESTROYING their reputation by the products they are selling. They are selling brands like Austin Bazaar, Sky, Blessing, Band Now, Hamlin, Infinity, Lauren, Simba, and woodwind. The only decent brands were Gemeinhardt, Jupiter, Pearl, and Sonare. By decent, I mean people have actually heard of them before. Yeesh! :0

Amazon isn`t selling instruments... it`s places like Giardinelli (sp?) and "Woodwind and Brasswind" selling their wares on Amazon.

It`s a nice open market place that can only help make brick and mortar stores price instruments on a reality based level.

Actually, the "Brick and Mortar" Stores can`t compete against the online stores because the wholesale prices are on a flexible system. The more a dealer buys, the cheaper each unit costs. They aren`t on an even playing field. Consequently it doesen`t pay for a local dealer to even stock instruments.

Aside from that, I do agree that the retail markup is ridiculous since it can often be over 200%
