Any tips on making notes above the third G sound better? I can play them, i just want them to sound not as shrill.

try practicing a slur from the low g to middle g, then middle g to high g, be sure to decrescendo as you ascend, if you can do that and have a relaxed jaw and embouchure, you will be able to hit the high g correctly

Thanks for the tip, but i meant the notes above the high G . I can play the high G with no trouble at all. Its the high A,B,Bb,and C i meant.

same procedure, be careful to make sure you finger notes correctly, if you are able to transpose, try playing a simple melody higher and higher till you reach those notes

Leave G# to last. It is more difficult than A,Bb,B.

also try this; start with middle g, play for 4 counts at about 60 on the metronome, slur to Ab, then Ab to A, A to Bb, etc etc till you hit the top of the range, try to hold each note for 4 counts or so, and remember, you have to find high notes, not just try to play them

Steady your air stream as best as you can. Tighten your emboucher with your lips, not your jaw, and don`t press the flute too tightly against yourself. It needs to lie there loosely so that your mouth can create a nice coushin for the flute to rest on it.

I disagree, most pros angle the flute in slightly, creating mild pressure against the lower lip when playing lower notes, but press to the point of pain

Yes, Patrick has got it right. You don`t want to tighten your lips like that when trying for the low notes.
