Hi Angie,

I would recommend that if you were investing $6000+ in your upgrade flute that you play test what professional flutes you can get a hold of in that price range. There are other flutes brands that are well regarded in their quality.

Also as a major Muramatsu player, Galway, recently switched to a Nagahara flute. You may want to wait a while to see if his switch is temporary. It`ll probably affect the "premium" pricing of Muramatsu flutes.

Rose Silver is a mix of Silver, Copper, and Palladium unique to Miyazawa flutes.
Aurumite is a mix of Gold and Silver unique to Powell.

Anyone have any suggested companies to add to this list?

Hi Sarah,

Your problems with your Miyazawa`s keywork should be easily fixable by a reputable flute technician. I believe Miyazawa warranties their mechanism for inherent defects, you may want to see what you can do. At least you can fix it up and sell it as a good flute before you move on to something else.

bragging about how high or low you can play is not helping anybody, no one cares how high you can play, they are concerned what you do with those high notes
