I would like to know the name of a flute solo I hear played on the radio only at Christmastime - although it is not any Christmas carol I have ever heard with words.... help? It has a slow, haunting sort of melody... I can hum it...!

Anythng by vivaldi ..... minuet and dance of the blessed spririts from orfeo and to be specific on the vivaldi Spring from the four seasons..... Marche Slave is very fun to play ummmm .... so is bercuese and ummm.... la tornado or tornado in french (very fun duet and very hard to play i played a year after i started playing, took me ages to get it but once i did i couldnt stop playing it .... its all 16th notes and the name means the tornado in french and it is a very acurate title ) theres this one that i played @ the fairbabks music academy (i live in AK) it some japenese one forget the title 3 movements and it was loud in spots and booming and then quiet in peaceful quite a few nasty trills in that one and something like the three dukes of wellingham or something or other was pretty good to...... ummm and vesper hymn is a very pretty trio i think thats it.....

The Chaminade flute concerto is by far the best piece I have learned to date. However, I do have a little place in my heart of the Griffes Poem.
I think everyone should get a recording of susan milan performing the chaminade.. absolutely breath-taking
or a recording of Kathleen rudolph performing with the CBC vancouver orchestra of the Griffes.
two great ones!
