I am looking for good recording software. I am looking for something that I can play an mp3 and record me playing the flute with it. I have a microphone, but I am clueless with the rest of it. If you know of software that I can download off the net that isn`t too expensive that will do what I need, please let me know. Thanks.

I can suggest to you a good music composing software, but not recording...

If you do, Kara, by any chance, I would be interested in knowing what it is

I use Adobe Audition, but it`s certainly not inexpensive. I`ve been using it for sound editing for years, since back when it was still Cool Edit. It`s extremely flexible and well worth the price tag if you are serious about recording.

They have a free trial if you are interested in checking it out.
