Re: "There is no reason whatsoever for someone to transpose a study into the key another instrument will sound. The study is meant to exercise the written fingerings for that written key."
You`ll notice you didn`t say "study" originally; you`ve thrown it in belatedly to try to cover yourself--far past the point of absurdity. It won`t work. Not all studies are finger studies, and no studies are JUST finger studies, else there`d be no point blowing--just wiggle your silly fingers.
Re: "When someone wants to exercise their fingers they turn exercises that can fill that need."
When someone wants to study flute, he had damn well better use a FLUTE study.
Re: "Instruments evolve to the whims of the public...When enough people want something manufactures follow suit... like..."
Like the chimerical double E foot I`ve just mentioned which allows you NOT to play string bass music. As I say, the possibilities are endless. Nota bene: when an alto saxophonist wants to play flute music, he uses a damn flute.

I initially made 5 very general statements on why a B foot would be desirable. Which are all true.
You seem to have trouble with my 5th general statement:
"You will often encounter a low B in Alto Sax/Oboe music."
You argued:
In alto saxophone music you will often find a low concert Db, a minor seventh (augmented sixth, rather) below that low B, which is to say, this last remark loses me.
And henceforth I went into as much detail on why that is wrong. There was no "semantic" play I used the word "study" in all of my posts in argument to this awkward sax statement of yours.
Now I was being polite, but you are being downright rude, oh man of many names.
When someone wants to study flute, he had damn well better use a FLUTE study.
No. Just as Trumpeters turn to Clarinet Klose studies and Clarinet Arban studies. You are wrong.

No, when a dedicated Classical saxophonist wants to perform music originally intended for flute on their instrument. They do not DOUBLE and pull out a flute, but use their Saxophone. Usually in the original key of the arrangement unless it is written outside of the Saxophone`s range.
If I wanted to play Glazunov`s Sax Concerto. I would most assuredly NOT pull out a sax to play it, but use my flute. I am a flutist. And there is nothing that would prevent me from performing the work.

I guess it`s just that when you stick two opinionated people together over a long period of time... our opinions have annealed to rub each other the wrong way.
Much like a bickering old married couple
