What is an Emerson Soloist 100? Is this a good intermediate flute? Any comments will be most appreciated. Thanks!!

my understanding is that emerson used to be a mediocre producer of student-line flutes. as such, they got a reputation similar to that of gemeinhardt.
however, beginning around 2000-2001, their design and construction standards have remarkably improved, and continue to do so. some teachers and music stores have told me they`re now actually recommending emerson as an alternative to yamaha.
keep in mind, however, this is all 2nd hand information and i can`t speak from personal experience. i do like their piccolos though.

I also think that their piccolos are great.

A couple of decades ago they offered me a selling agency for my country, but I turned them down because in order to sell them and make any profit, I would have had to compromise my standards of integrity, and hide the truth I knew about the manufacturing standards.
I sure hope their engineering standards have improved. That would present a welcome addition to the quality student flute range. But tread with caution... hyped up rumours are easy to start, often by those without the knowledge to know better.
