I am in Idaho right now and it is FREEZING here!!! Holy tamoly! I am not used to this cold. I am staying with my parents for the winter to look for a house. There is frozen fog on all the trees and it is so gorgeous! I added pictures of it on my site if you would like to check it out.

My point to this story? Well, I was at the airport and I had to put my flute through the scanner. It held me up for 10 minutes because the security guard thought it was a weapon. Loll! I had some fun though..I took it out and played it for them and the rest of the people in line all clapped when I was done. I hope I don`t have to go through that again!

Hope everyone is toasty warm for Christmas. I know I will be visiting the hot tub daily. (Just one of the perks to staying at my parents house.)

Well,
It`s about 7F here this morning but I remember a Christmas Eve about 20 years ago that was over 30 degrees colder.

Playing in the airport? I wouldn`t ahve been in the mood at that point but I suppose that as long as you don`t attack the notes too harsh, they won`t think that you were sent by Osama

Kara, I wish more airports would put us through that, try taking your flute to Israel, they really examine it, a dismantled flute looks like a weapon

It was -13 here the other day. Hi I play flute too. I started two years ago, and I really enjoy it. Even though I`ve been in competition and I`m still in it, I still get nervous playing in front of people. So I`m glad it was you and not me at the airport.

Kara, so sorry you are cold. It`s been around 70 degrees here, but the early mornings are a bit nippy. I`m still in short sleeves and no jacket, but I did get cold coming out of the store after my late night shopping (1:30am).

I didn`t see pictures of the "frozen fog" (I think that`s called hoar frost ), but baby Olivia sure is cute (I happen to have had a baby Olivia myself, so I`m partial).

I take it that you are moving out to Idaho? That`s quite a change (maybe I misunderstood)

Burrr...you made me cold...and I am in Virginia in my "supposidly" warm house.

Just so you all know, I am going to be gone from 12/23-12/27 up to my grandparents house in Massachusetts...I am going to bring my flute and see what they think of their new and improved flute playing eldest granddaughter

Ya know, I couldn`t find the pictures of the fog on my Mom`s computer. I was going to post them. I will keep looking. It could be anywhere on this stupid thing. I am still teaching my parents how to run the computer, they are bit behind.

Kippsix, my husband and I might be moving here. That is if he decides to take the job offer here. My parents just moved to Idaho about 6 months ago and we really love the area and wanted to be close to family again. I used to live here before I moved to NY. I forgot how much I really missed it. The mountains are just beautiful! But dang is it cold!!!

I had a long layover in Atlanta and that is when I played the flute. I played a short clip of flight of the bumblebee.

ME TOO! When I went through newark airport i put it in and the guards where like whatever, I come back through Jacksonville, Florida airport (which is small), and the guard looked totally perplexed! I have my flute inside that skb strap over your back pack (which is great by the way)and he`s like what is it and looked very concerned? I`m like em a flute and he made me take it out. Thank GOD I he didnt` make me play it but despite it out he still looked like he had reservations. Whatever. I live in the poconos and love the mountains, hate the cold, and miss the beach but it sure is pretty! Karra I love your Lilly cat dressed like Little Red Riding Hood!

I am going to visit my old Junior High band director tomorrow, I can`t wait. He is still teaching! He is going to have my play something for the class. That should be fun.

I`m going to visit my old school tomorrow, Kara, too. It should be fun, except that the band teacher isn`t going to be there (at my old school we only met for band once a week). I can`t wait!!

I am jealous of the snow people. It`s cold and drizzly here in the UK. No sign of snow yet. Just grey.

It`s so hot right now in SoCal... one day freezing, one day hot... Oi! Who knows what the next day will bring.

Christmas is only a few days away... it should be cold.. even here. Weird weather we have nowadays.

We`ve got February weather here. 7 below zero yesterday. Too freaking cold, quite frankly. Makes me cranky. Can`t wait for warm summer evenings, sipping raspberry margaritas on my deck while listening to the neighbor kid`s jam band practicing in their garage. MMmmmmm.....

kara the `frozen fog` looks like it`s from a post card or something. it`s perfect. in uk weather is like it always is grey, wet, dark, cold it`s more like autumn than winter
