help. i feel like my lips are going outwards when i tongue, like my tongue is making contact with them and the flute moves a little. i feel like i am tonguing right on the spot where the gums and front two teeth meet (behind) so i shouoldnt be having difficulty but i am, please help! why is this so hard!

Try saying Doo instead or Too when tonguing. Is your back of your mouth open enough? Imagine you have a gum ball spaced between your back molars.

Ah, tonguing, I remember relearning how to tongue last year.

careful with that advice first chair, some young flute players wind up stopping the tone each time they play if they don`t do that correctly

Im not sure if this will help as I think i would have to see what is happening in order to help but it may help to think of at only being an interuption of the air flow not cutting it off entirely. Maybe you are tongueing slighlty too hard. hope this helps if not feel free to email me for more suggestions
