ive got a new piece in front of me (terpsichore) and it has alot of glissando markings. on clarinet u slide your fingers gradually over the wholes, but im guessing on flute you just go up the scale to the note that the squiggly line points to (following the key signature) but sometimes, it has diatonic glissandi written beside it. can someone exaplin to me the different forms and what that means? thank you SO much

Diatonic means you`d just be playing the glissando within whatever key signature your piece is in, whether major or natural minor. This is opposed to a chromatic glissando where you hit every possible note between the start of the glissando and the end of it.
