May I suggest a very wise investment in a recently published book, hailed by many technicians, and also training schools, to be the best ever written on woodwind repairs. $73.

THE COMPLETE WOODWIND REPAIR MANUAL

From the store at http://www.napbirt.org/

Thanks. I really only do adjustments, clean and oil and the pads I don`t like to bother with. If a flute needs repading I take it in to someone else. It is only a hobby for me, though I have had quite a bit of traing with a repair tech who was a good friend. I hung out at a local repair shop many summers. I will look into the book. Thanks again.
