90% of people in band have dents and dings all over their instruments. SUPID PEOPLE! How can anyone be so careless. They don`t deserve any of those expensive flutes. They just drop them and don`t even practice. So ab, I know what you are talking about. It is so annoying! All the rich kids get those super nice flutes and don`t even care about them.

People covet

It`s one thing to covet a flute, but another thing to covet your neighbor`s flute.

Hey, things happen. Not everything that happens to someone`s instrument is because they are careless. I`m sure you have hit your flute on a stand at some point or other... I love my flute to death but sometimes stuff happens. (Like when that annoying french horn player put their stand right next to where I put my flute. Darn french horns... )

All I can say is that nothing like that has EVER happened to my flute, thank God!!!

Stuff does happen. My flute got a minor dent because of close proximity concert formation. I wasn`t careless about it at all.

Having said that, there are a lot of careless people around. A girl at band once sat on her flute at practice as it was on her chair after a break and majorly bent it up like a banana. Not beyond repair however, which was surprising given the state it was in! But she was young and at least it was a cheap flute. If she`d had an expensive one it would`ve been a total waste.

i look after my flute, but it has still received minor damage from time to time.. like when i`ve been in band and someone else has put their flute down carelessly and hit mine on the way
