You`re missing the point to Pearl Harbor. This is a Michael Bay film. As we can see from past experience (Armageddon, The Rock, Pearl Harbor II: Pearlmageddon) its not about the main characters. Its about things blowing up, often for no real reason. There isnt much more to these films.
