At least you`re in a major city. I had the pleasure of staying in El Paso for a month in summer and there was certainly a lack of things to do along with hot temperature and an occaisional locust swarm. Thank goodness I took my laptop with me and had access to the outside world in an air conditioned room. lol.

I`ve never been to El Paso, but people have told me they have quite the chupacabra problem there, lol.

I have been to Lubbock, and that was enough to scare me out of the desert and back to Dallas.

The best part of Los Angeles is that the beach, mountains and desert can all be reached in about 20 minutes (unless you take the 405)
