I don`t get it:0. Why are gemeinhardt such a bad flute brand? I have a 2sp, and I know it`s not the best sounding flute in the world, but i always wondered by people don`t like gemeinhardt. My teacher doesn`t like it because it`s a easy blow and it`s not able to project good. Is that true and is there any other reasons why gemeinhardt is bad? And also, i heard someone say JUPITER and GEMEINHARDT is almost the same. relating to tone issues and all that. Is it similar at all? And please answer if you really know the answer, or any opinions because I`m planing to buy a new flute soon.

Please read my last post, I answered your question in the last thread where you asked it. No, Jupiter and Gemeinhardt flutes are not alike.

I hate Geminenhardt 2sp`s...I have one...mine sounds good ONLY because I have a good tone.

Yeah..i don`t like my gemienhardt. well sometimes i like it, but it`s hard to get a tone out of it. It might be because my tone quality isn`t that great. I mean i`ll play notes..OK, but i can`t project that good. OMG! I can`t wait to get a new flute tommorrow. I MIGHT. I`m looking at Jupiter and Yamaha tommorrow. That`s the only one they have at the store.

I just tried the Jupiter today, and well...i`m not sure if that`s the flute for me. I only had 15 minutes to try it out, and I thought that was not fair. I asked the store owner if i could take it home and maybe try it out for a week, or even 3 days. but noooo.
The jupiter had a "square" shaped hole in the emorchure(cant spell), and it`s different from my gemienhardt. I thought the jupiter had soft keys, and i couldn`t play a song with runs and fast moving parts, because...I wasnt` used to the jupiter? i thought the keys messed me up. Hmm..and the keys and wall of the jupiter was REALLY thin. I was like..WOW..it looks fake. that`s my opinion and not trying to offend anyone.
I tried the yamaha next and well,..hmm. i thought it was good. I couldn`t tell a big difference from my gemienhardt. i thought yamaha had a sweet sound. but some notes i couldn`t control as well. Well, I only had 15 min. and maybe i wasn`t used to it. I realized buying a flute is harder than I think. My mom was there, but she wasn`t much help and didn`t know which one was better. sry mom^^
I`m probably going to try out more brands. what do you guys think of emerson?

IMO, I really think that Yamaha is the best built and has the best mechanism.

I also think that they have very nice headjoints compared to other brands.

I have a Pupil that plays on a geimhardt 4w piccolo and ive found that their piccolo`s are much better than their flutes. I much prefer Geimhardt piccolo`s to yamahas

Hey I asked that same question to a professional plaier and she answered that gemeinhardt was not to professional of a flute that it was more a quality brand for beginners. I personally wouldn`t go with Jupiter neither I haven`t heard to many good things about them. A flute that i hear about a lot and i was adviced to get was a Yamaha... they have different series. They are awesome flutes though. If you wanna know anything more or have any questions you can reply to this.

I used to play on a Gemeinhardt 3SB in HS and I can vouch for that brand as not being reliable. Yes, Yamaha is good for students and even professional flutists. Good brand.

Gemienhardt piccolos sound nice. I`ve never played it before, but it`s nice and cheap. Maybe i`ll get those plastic ones..yup that sounds good. I won`t have a problem playing gemienhardt pic..right? I have a gemienhardt flute...so i think it`ll be okay.

I have a really great gemeinhardt. The sound has always been beautiful on it and Gemeinhardt is not a bad brand. I am on in a great seat for my age in the band, and I made it into an audution only band in my school, on my Gem. flute. My teacher and band director have told me that my flute is a great one.

oh and one of the top players in my school plays a Gemeinhardt. The group she is in The wind ensamble, is playing in Carnagie hall in April, They have been to all state. They are playing College level literature and the group I am in plays College literature. They May be performing in Austria next year. So, yeah Gemeinhardts are awful, they really get you no where. Honestly did you ever think that different brands are great for different people? What works for one person might be awful for another.

I had a gemienhardt, and it did a lot of great things for me. But it also gave me a lot of problems. I won't say gemienhardt is a good brand..iguess. But i just heard a lot of bad things about it. I guess different brands are for certain ppl..yea you're right.^^
