Hi,
I recently bought a used Armstrong alto flute with silver head.
I was told it was a Heritage model.
Now there's nowhere on the flute a sign to be found that says HERITAGE.
Is it because it's an old one from '76, or was I simply fooled?
Thankfull for any help!

I paid 1400 Dollars for it. Meanwhile I found out, that it is NOT a Heritage but a regular Armstrong. So it's probably not quite a bargain...

That's probably a little bit high, but those are pretty nice alto flutes. They are certainly much better than the current production.. Keep in mind that their pitch scale is lower, what some would deem, the traditional scale. But they are quite responsive and have loverly tonal aspects...

You could probably buy something similar new for the same prive nowadays, (jupiter for example) and have a modern scale, but the tone on those old armstrongs is much nicer IMO..

So it's a trade-off..
