There is an old Muramatsu flute on e-bay going for about US$240.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7393576357

I think that this is a good bargain. I am watching this item. However, when I carefully view the pictures, it seems that the top of the headjoint is missing. What do you think?

I wouldn't bid on it. It doesn't look like a bargain at all to me. The headjoint looks awful and not designed well at all. Who knows how old it is. The mechanism could be so far gone on it that it wouldn't be worth the repair costs. Save your money and get a newer one.

AndrewB you are right that getting another crown is easy but Kara has a point. Because the seller says that this flute needs overhaul and after considering the cost of overhaul, I am kinda thinking that this may not be a good buy at all. Well, unless of course it can give me that 'sound' that old instruments are known for. In the end, as AndrewB was saying, there is no return policy and the seller does not know anything about flute.
