so, i know a yamaha flute isnt exactly a pearl flute, but how does everyone think about a yamaha YFL-461H sounds? is it a good quality and good sounding instrument, because i am thinking of buying one but am not sure about it.

OMG! I had to chose between a yamaha-471 and a pearl too! yamahas are great..but it wasn't the best flute for me. The pearl helped me get a BETTER projection..then my old stinky gemienhardt 2sp.
YEA..so i ended up with a pearl 665 quantz coda?..i think. It had a solid 10k gold lip plate..uh..and A LOT of little cool stuff on it too:D..YUP..and I LOVE my NEW PEARL!!

I dunno..pearl works for me..but yamaha might work for you^_^..see what fits you the best

Ooh and also..the pearl helped me get a good sound with my braces. it had a nice cut..yea. i was so excited ..for the new sound. EVERYONE noticed it..it's very pretty

when i was buying my flute, i tried a pearl. i tried many pearls. i wasnt impressed. i tested from quantz through cantabile. as soon as i picked them up i knew they were not for me. but thats just me. im different that all you (duh) but i just had to put my two cents in and say i wasnt impressed with anything of pearl except for the design of the foot. even the key action wasnt something i was into, really. different strokes for different folks, im sure

I know, i only tried that ONE yamaha-471. I just didn't like it. And that's the only one that the music store had so i couldn't try any PRO yamahas. Although the yamaha was mostly all silver. I think the yamaha i tried was a intermediate flute. Hhhmm.. ANYWAYS, that yamaha wasn't the best for me..
i know that beginner pearl and maybe intermediate isn't that great compared to the pro ones.

I lOVE my pearl. My teacher recommend it and a lot of highschool students have it. I'm not that DETAILED when i'm writing stuff sometimes. unlike you micron! YOU"RE REALLY good at that!
