THanks for the support you guys^_^. It's been really hard and i was about to quit flute. You don't know how many times i wanted to quit. BUt i didn't give up because of my friends and family. AND I"M REALLY HAPPY i didn't quit. I had good moments..spotlight But you know..i'm still struggling. It's hard. I don't think it's a one time adjustment..i always have to keep on adjustmenting every month or so.
Any have this problem? I really don't want to quit flute...but it gets hard.. <Added>i know..PRACTICE. As i keep on practicing bad tone comes out...it's so weird. fustrating.

Hey I feel for you! I had braces for 5 years. The first several just top braces then the rest up and bottoms. Just as others said it just kept taking practice. I'd try to relax my lips as best I could around the braces. At first I was really tense and focused too much on oh I've got metal on my teeth. It got better and with constant brace tightening took time adjusting all the time but you can get through it. I had to have a metal expander on the roof of my mouth to space out my top teeth it was HORRIBLE. I'd get food stuck on top and gag and throw up. Sorry to be gross but it was horrible but got around that too. Mostly just trying not to focus on the stuff in your mouth and try to relax your lips. If you tense just make it worse. When I got my braces off maybe it was in my head or not so much my tone seemed better I think more because I could relax my mouth better without all the objects in it. Well at first it was hard, had to adjust all over but in the end more improvement. More probably from the practice. Hang in there it's totally doable.
