A few years ago, the local instrument peddlers going school to school hitting up the beginners for new instruments, were pushing flute maintenance kits to the kiddies. You know the ones that have a scew driver, a cleaning cloth and a polishing cloth that are unmarked, oil and some pad papers. Before my student told me she had one of these kits, she oiled her flute. Well, actually she oiled the pads.
