I've recently obtained a sterling silver headjoint. I'm wondering about the difference between it and a solid silver headjoint. And also, does it worth to buy a whole silver flute?

My new flute(semi-pro) has a bigger hole in the mouth piece... I heard someone in another post saying that professional(upgrade flutes) should have a smaller hole? Does THe the size of the hole in the headjoint make a difference? Since my new flute has a bigger hole..i have to use more air...hmm..?

As I have said before in this forum, my Powell headjoint does in fact take more air because the embouchure whole is quite large. It does project quite nicely also.

Gemeinhardt picked up Dana Sheridan sometime last year for their head designs (or at least they made the announcement last year).

Oh, so the Brio flute is going to be kind of like what the Sonare did. They put a Powell headjoint on the body. So Gemeinhardt is going to make a Brio series and put a Sheridan headjoint on their flutes? How cool! That will greatly improve them. I really like Sheridan headjoints. I will definitely have to try one when one comes out. The flute world is definitely evolving and getting smarter.
