I just got back from playing at church. We had Mass outside in the "ampitheater". It was beautiful.

We ended Mass with a haunting hymm called "Were You There When They Crucified My Lord?". One verse was sung, then I played completely solo as all 2000 people silently filed out. I kept playing until I was the only one there. It was beautiful. What a magnificent way to begin Holy Week.

Ooh.. that is a beautiful song! I wish I could have been there and heard you play. I bet it was just beautiful.

I will be playing that for church on Thursday. My church has an awesome bell choir and I will also be playing a flute solo with them and a double bass. It is really pretty.

It is so hard for me to play sometimes especially for the Saturday mass before Easter Sunday. It is so moving I have to try and not think about it when I play, so I don't choke all up.

Ah, Palm Sunday...
As I do every year, I got up early this morning to do a band parade, which was good! It's a church parade with a donkey and everything! So a good few marches blasted out on piccolo... always fun. Though the uniform is not good at all and my trousers were covered in cat hairs!!

Your Palm Sunday sounds good kippsix!

I hope you are excepting donations? I shouldn't talk though because I did all kinds of freebies for the Catholic church back in NY. They really took advantage of me though. Now I get paid for every service I do. They are really big on paying their musicians top notch in my area. Lucky for me, I get just about all the gigs because I don't have any competition in the town I live in and they don't want to pay extra for travailing expensed to hire someone from the city.

The city is where most of the other flute (snobs) hang out. Okay..not all of them are snobs, just 75% of them. Lol!

I used to play every Sunday for a Baptist church in my area(they needed a piccolo player) but for Christmas, my music theory teacher(an organist for a local Catholic church) got me to play for mass. All flute solo with organ accompaniment. I love the way that those two timbers mix.

However I've never played for Easter. I've played in a pit orchestra for a Good Friday skit though.

That's okay. I think we need more selection of these smiley face guys on here. That would make it easier.

Just returned home from rehearsal. Looks like I'm playing Holy Thursday also.

There is such an abundance of beautiful music played during Holy Week. Very inspiring.

Full week, better get some sleep.
