I just thought I'd remind everyone to remain courteous and appropriate in comments.

Rude, insulting, and inappropriate comments &/or behavior should be reported to the admins by clicking on the "report this post" tab in the corner.

Behave!

Yeah but you should see the nasty/foul email that I got from Reeni.
I can say it was not flute related but contained plenty of profanity.

Kim;
I'm sorry that has happened to you. I'd suggest contacting the admins.

Actually, I think that generally this furum is a lot nicer and more professional that the old sandbox that many of us used to play in.

Here at least we can tell the teacher when someone throws sand at us and they will do something about it.

I never understood why some people have to put others down to make themselves feel or look good. It also concerns me when people draw conclusions from just a few examples and make blanket statements like they know it all. These message boards are great - I subsribe to several of them and find them really helpful! But we should all be responsible enough to think before we put something in print and speak from personal experience rather than make uninformed claims. Let's keep it positive people!

I have a feeling the "argument" has been removed, or will be soon. These mods are great, and appear to want to keep this forum decent.

Well, actually schoolgirl, many of us were on a different forum a while back, and it disintigrated into a huge, ugly, libelous mess. So, believe me, I am familiar with how bad it can get.

My perception of the recent "argument" was that you were somewhat the victim, rather than the trouble-maker. Kara once mentioned your "spunkiness" or something like that, and I think the majority of us enjoy your youthful enthusiasm, even when we have a difference of opinion/broader knowledge base. Your questions are always polite and reflect your level of experience.

We all need to remember to be in the "teacher" mode with the youth of this forum. A haughty condescending attitude is unwelcome, and is generally a sign of a lack of confidence in one's self, not a sign of professionalism.

I have found I can learn from each and everyone on this forum in one way or another. I am probably one of the longer playing members here, but everyone has experiences and knowledge to share, and I appreciate it.

<Added>

In addition: at the center top of each post there is a little box/tab that says "Report This Post". That goes to the admins as some sort of red flag to check out a problem. It would probably be a better idea to check that when someone gets nasty rather than get into an argument with them. It give their bad behavior too much attention when we argue back with them.

Perhaps we should have a "naughty corner" to send them too!!

Those were the days, weren't they Kippsix! I am so glad that that forum finally got shut down. What a mess! I did start some of it in the beginning, but then I got blamed for it all. I am so glad that is over!

Schoolgirl, I am the same way, I feel young at heart. It took me longer to grow up and leave the nest, but I am happy being who I am. I get a lot great with kids and understand well. I hate it when people talk down to kids like they are totally stupid. A lot of my friends are either teens or adults over 40. I have found out that the people my age are either still into partying and not settling down or too busy to take off time in life and just have fun. I am so glad that I live with my immature best friend and have him everyday. I mean.. what would life be like without him? Who would I ever have to run around the house with having ice cube fights? We will grow up one of these days, but hopefully not any time soon.
