I was wondering if anyone would have any adivce about where I could sell a Jupiter 911? It's a standard RBS except that I have a Jupiter D2 headjoint instead of the D1. I'm asking $900 for it. I've tried usedflutes, but that has been unsuccessful for awhile. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Start close to home and then branch out.

I sent an e-mail to my band mates on the instruments I was selling and I sold 2 flutes, an oboe, and a piccolo just to people in my own band.

Next I'll do craigslist.com and usedflutes.com for my area to sell a few more instruments and if that fails I'll set up an Ebay auction with a reserve.

Also keep in mind that it is not the best time to try and sell. The best time is when all the kids are going back to school. Right now is very slow. I sell flutes and I am having a hard time too. If you can wait, it will pick up near the end of the summer.

Well, if you were not very picky where it went to, eBay would be a good place to start. I have bought and sold flutes on eBay before and it works! It's not the easiest thing in the world, but it's worth a shot. Take out an ad in the local paper. Many people I know actually look through the paper for instruments to buy... sounds far fetched, but it's worth a shot! Sending emails to fellow musicians is a great idea, though, like Stephen K said... that way, you know who the flute is going to and you don't have to sell to a stranger!
