I play and pratice when i like my flute that day..HAHA! My love for flute is BIG!! i don't have any routins i 'swear" by..i just play ALL sorts of stuff from my lesson book. (which is really good!) which involves scales, and etudes..etc. whatever! HAHA!..i'm too young to go seriously about music. Well, i guess i meant to say is that i'm not quite sure if i want to do flute as a career.

I have always used the Rubank, Advanced Method, too, but I try to do everything in order, as if I was in an actual class. That way, I can track how I am doing and what I have done, as well as what I need to go back to do again! I have probably played everything in there twice (I have had it for about 7 years now) and I still love it. I agree with you, Lera, that it is a fun book!

I mostly use the practice books in the winter, when I have concerts and contests approaching. In the summer, I still work from the Rubank book, but not so often...

Lera, please, not again with the story of the crazy spell checker!

If you really want to use a sane spell checker (I use it most of the time and I learn a lot on my errors), please do this:

1- do not write your posts or your replies directly on your Browser.
2- get (buy at Ebay for example) a standard copy of Microsoft Word, if you do not have it already or if you think the one you have has undergone some kind of weird manipulation.
3- Write your posts with this new version of Word and have it spell-checked with the existing Word dictionary.(you find it in the "Tools" menu).
4- Once all found errors have been corrected, select the whole text, use "copy" (find it in edit menu)
5. Go to your browser, open the window to "Reply" and the paste the text you wrote in Word (put mouse tracer on the window, click right button on mouse and select "paste).

6. It could also be that your browser has been manipulated to "correct" your text while you type it. I would be too much surprised, but even in this case, you have an easy cure for this: install a new Browser and use it instead of the current crazy one.

I suggest you install free Firefox 1.05.04 (latest version). Then use this Browser instead of the one you currently use.

If your parents or the system administrator do not allow you to install any software, explain the problem to them. I cannot think on any reason why they should not be helpful and have it installed by them...

If your parents are not with you and you face a blocked system, you always have the possibility of reformatting the hard disk and reinstalling everything from scratch. But you will lose everything you have not previously saved on a separate system, such as a CD or floppy diskettes, so be careful, this should be the ultimate resource, really

If you cannot re-format the HD because the system does not allow you, start the machine using the start diskette of the Operating System you will install. And then follow the instructions. You can ask help from more experienced friends, if you do not know how to proceed.

I apologize if I this was too long and so much detailed; perhaps you know all this. I just try to help ....and avoid a renewal of this old discussion!

If I could help in any other way just let me know. You can also mail private messages as this feature is active in my profile

Good luck!

Depends how much detail you want to go into

I can't say much for my daily routine these days, not having one... but I swear by the Trevor Wye books, which I used to go through every day to propel me into practising.

Lera, I will not insist on this anymore. Just this last recommendation:
What you need (IMHO) is your own PC; based on English software, (English windows, English browser, English word processor such as Word) and not shared with your mother or anybody else (for the moment).
You can buy a second hand PC very cheap at Ebay or in specialized stores. For less than 100$ you can have a reasonably good one.

It will help in correcting your spelling as it does, in my case.

What I find insulting is the way you keep on lying to everyone on this board. That would be reason # 10 why I am leaving. Since this is my last week on this board, I am going to speak up.

We have all caught you in several lies yet you continue on doing this behavior. Yes, we are all guilty of telling a few lies here and there throughout our lives and we all know that nobody is perfect. The bad part of this all though is that you continue this behavior over and over again. I thought you would have learned with the whole thing about your "so called" sax recording deal. I am not even going to bring up the whole spelling thing because that is a huge joke and we all know it. Stop pulling everyone's leg, it is not funny or cute anymore.

I am not perfect or pretend to be, but if you can't understand why I called you an idiot... well there was your answer.

Why are you leaving Kara? It will be very sad if you go. You reflect a lot of personalities in this forum that I value, foremost of which is your courage in speaking your mind and in doing so, make things sensible, followed by your sincere willingness in helping beginners like me. I hope you'll change your mind.
