Well it could be that this is a scam, but it could also be that the seller doesn't have any idea what they have. Many eBay sellers go to estate sales and the like to look for potentially profitable items, and this could be such an item. It certainly has an excellent starting price on it, but to be sure you weren't being scammed, you'd want to ask some questions (Where did you get it, how old is it, is it in playing condition, why are you selling it, etc.). As a side note, we have a thread dedicated to eBay finds already, so please post this type of thing there in the future.

Trust me it's a scam. My dad if VERY familar with ebay and he has a pretty good sense if the seller is a scam. Also, you can type the e-mail address in a googlesearch engine and find some stuff about the seller. http://www.scamsonebay.com/pages/content.php?content.30

Look whos e-mail address is on the list.....

Looks like Fluteboy1 dad was right!

This is the current status of the item:

"This listing (#7773074564) has been removed or is no longer available. Please make sure you entered the right item number."

anytime someone is selling an expensive flute for cheap I smell a scam, they tried to scam several dealers I know by just lifting their photos off their websites

To me, that seller seems to be "real." (but no one can ever be sure, so don't hold it against me). If the seller puts something up in the ad like "E-mail me and I will sell it to you for a lower price," then the seller tends to be a fraud.

The Yamaha YPC-32 is a well know student picollo, and like most Yamaha products is considered good value for the money. Can't say anything about the seller, but at least he/she knows what they're talking about it seems.

It is always worthwhile asking explicit questions about the condition of an instrument eg pads, springs, dents, is it in full playing order, when was it serviced etc. Unless assurances are forthcoming, you should assume the piccolo will need at least a minor service.

In my opinion, the best thing about Yamaha flutes and piccolos is their second hand resale value. The second best thing is that the quality is much more consistent than some other brands - which is very important if you dont/cant try the instrument before you buy!
