I refuse to shop at WalMart, but here's not the place to get into the myriad of reasons why I choose other establishments. And yes, I am old enough to remember when Yamaha first entered the market. Maybe the Chinese will go that way and maybe they won't. But the handful of
Chinese flutes I've seen/tried were all junk, made out of really easily bendable metal and leaky to boot. My repair tech significant other refuses to touch them after attempting to repair one that started to melt. Maybe your Venus is a good one, but I'm certainly steering clear, at least until we start to see consistently good workmanship coming out of there.

I play an armstrong for marching band now, but by no means is it the best picc I've played. There are many other far superior instruments available, especially for a concert setting.

There are better piccolos out there, but obviously S has not tried them yet.
