Lera, So are you saying that you bought it from Ukraine or Russia then and had it shipped to you in the US? You still live in the US, right? I am not up with currencies, but $20 USD for a headjoint from ANYWHERE in the country would be very hard to find. So if you did get a head for $20 USD, (which sorry, I think is very unlikely) then you got yourself a deal!
I really think that you might be mixing up currencies here.

I'm sorry Lera, but not much of what you are saying is making sense to me. Can anyone else follow and explain?

It's definitely possible....Stolen instruments or those from people that don't realize what they have can go for ridiculously low prices. I was at Landell flutes this last week, and while I was doing a COA on the first Argentium flute, Jon told me that it was actually a hybrid.....An argentium tube with the mechanism from a Sonare that he got off eBay for $100! It's unlikely to find something like a Sankyo headjoint for $20, but it could happen. I don't really understand what Lera has been telling us either, but it's not outside the realm of possibility.

Why not? I've seen plenty of flutes for thousands less than they were worth...There's no reason that a similar situation couldn't occur with a headjoint.

True, but most of them probably are not looking for a headjoint, and there are any number of things that could have help hide the headjoint. A misspelling (headjiont or some such) could keep the usual search criteria from finding that particular head, or it may be that no one else that happened to stumble upon it was that interested. Then there's the possibility of a Buy It Now...And any number of other possibilities. As I said before, it's very unlikely to have such a find (and actually end up with the promised product), but not at all impossible.
