Yeah I think that the flute boards are the best...We're the good people. I've only been on here about a week and I've gotten so much help. It's amazing.

Voice lessons could definitely help your flute playing. Lots of the breathing and music-related fundamentals are similar. James Galway strongly suggests that every flutist learn to sing, and some of his influences have been singers.

question, on the subject of singing enhancing flute performance...is it true that if you can sing a note in tune that you will be able to play it in tune???

Not necessarily, though it does in enhance the chances. If you can hear a pitch in your head before you even produce it (as you must to sing a note in tune from the start), you are far more likely to actually produce it in tune. However, singing is not the same as flute playing, and does not need the same manipulations of air/mouth/throat to play in tune. A good player may be able to do both quite well, but a good singer who begins to learn flute may not immediately.

I have learned proper breath control from singers almost exclusively
