I completely agree, dottedeighthnote! I was actually just about to suggest both ideas. I also rather like Zevang's idea of the posts listed from most recent to least recent in any given thread.

I can see here and there adding on to a thread. I know often what happens to me when I first started here the date was so small I'd respond and am like ooh it's so old! But some things, like the October thread I found it and added to it just to share what a nice time I had with it. I don't see anything wrong with that. However asking for Phantom of the Opera music and consistently people posting emails to get it when it's a year old...ok that's annoying! You don't realize it half the time. I also think some post to them to stir trouble at times too. I don't know about closing them off. I know a nursing board I use we keep many posts b/c of all the info on them and can still add on to it. So it all depends.

How would the moderator be chosen, though?

David,
One glitch that I have found is in the profile pages. I put my Birthday in at 12-17-76 and it shows my age at 30. It should say 29. Hey..I don't want to be put down as any older than I am, I am almost 30 as it is. Eeekk!

The big 3oh doesn't hurt as much as you'd think, in fact I found it a relief...

What happened to the "number of posts" item in the profiles though? Not that I'm keen on some sort of "L33T" spitting contest, but it does make it easier to spot trolls, and to keep track.

Sounds like a good plan to me.
