My clarinet audition was ehhh...I slightly messed up the opening of my Hindemith Symphony in Bb Excerpt. Other than that...I believe I did very well. I only tripped over my fingers a little in the beginning, so hopefully that didn't countagainst me too much. If so, I have my flute audition in about 19 hours!

Thanks for the luck, and I hope you had a good flight! OH! I don't have to go anywhere to try out those flutes from JL Smith! They are coming to FSU next month to do an exhibit! You wanna fly here for a couple days? LOL

So my Flute audition was today everyone. I did pretty well. The only thing I kinda flubbed was the arpeggiatic run in thePeter and the Wolf excerpt 1. That's it. No other horrible mistakes. I played the Mozart Flute/Harp Concerto from memory, and played it really well. No mistakes in that. I am overall happy with my audition, eventhough I am sure I won't get a chair in an ensemble. There are just too many flutes in my school to think that I would really have a shot at it. 30 or so freshman/sophomore college flutists vying for 3 orch. chairs, and maybe 6 or so concert band chairs. Hopefully the results will be posted tomorrow!

That's awesome Dennis! Good luck with the chair thing! I remember playing that Peter and the Wolf excerpt for an audition...I still have the whole thing memorized! You gotta love Peter and the Wolf!

Actually if Peter and the Wolf died andgot burned and was never seen again...I would be the most joyfully happy flutist in the world! I loved playingthe Mendelssohn Scherzo from midsummer night's dream. That's what the orchestra is playing this semester...so I would love to be playing solo for that...but that isn't going to happen.

Hey Dennis,
Congrats on getting that over and doing a good job. I knew you would! I would love to take a vacation to Florida. I am in Idaho right now and the weather is so beautiful! I love it here. The flight was perfect except for being packed in a little plane and having to put up with my husband for the flights. Lol! Nah, I am just kidding. He knows I luv him to death!

We got to stay last night at this really expensive hotel as a be lated anniversary gift from my parents. It was so nice! There was a jacuzzi and everything in the room and a fire place. We also had a belcony overlooking the river and the falls which were all lite up at night. I don't think I want to come home! Sorry for writting this on the flute board, but I can't get into my email for some reason.
