Well Ange, that is a great question to be asking at the moment for me. I play worse! I get so absent minded. Do you remember in the first stages of pregnancy how you get where you forget everything or what you are doing or saying? It is like that! If I play a sad slow piece, I get too emotional and if I try a faster technical peice, I feel like screaming. That only last about a day or two for me, thank God!

Okay... now on with the next women question. Lol!

I take some good over the counter meds which seems to drain all that water in the brain stuff. It really works. Then, I have myself a glass of wine and bitch to my husband.

Oops.. I thought it would have sensored that word, sorry. :O

thanks for your reply kara, yes, i think you're right, trying to focus during this time is the biggest difficulty, i tend not to play so much during those few days as the mistakes i do make me feel even worse (whereas normally i would keep going and work my way through them)

Oh, come on women! Where are you? You can't answer Angie's question? I thought it was a good topic.

When playing, I have my good days and my bad days so if there was a difference I wouldn't really notice too much. Though, I'm still a teen so those days havn't fully hit me yet.

We only have monthly cycles because we have to deal with PMS from women all day long. Those of us that work only with women...oh my word, it's like someone's always crabby! You know how they say laughter is infectious? It's nothing compared to bad attitudes. LOL!

Oh men, just will never understand...
My husband is really sweet and tries to. It is good that only us women have to go through it. I mean... could you imagine how bad it would be if the men did to? YIKES!!!

<Added>

Oh and Dennis, I am going to so kick your butt too, but I have already taken my midol. Lol!!

It's said as scientifically proved that women are 9 times more resistant to pain than men...

... and Patrick, the other reason is that 40 women would just exhaust time, so we could not even play the flute any more... :-)

Irritable Male Syndrome (IMS)

a.k.a. andropause (male menopause)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andropause

Lack of Testosterone can be a good thing:
Testosterone poisoning: The accident statistics show that most avalanche victims are between the ages of 20 and 35 and are male. Very few females get killed in avalanches and those who do are usually following a male at the time. In a number of cases the men involved in avalanche accidents did not listen to the advice of sensible women. But a man has got to be a MAN! And no better way to prove it than in a stupendously violent death.'

Testosterone production can be encouraged with aggression:
Shifting from researchers who actually use the phrase [testosterone poisoning] in their printed work to the role of testosterone in general, a different picture comes into focus. In the words of one prominent researcher in the field, "Identifying testosterone with aggression is an idea whose time has come and gone" (Dabbs, 1998). While males with higher testosterone levels do tend to be slightly more aggressive, this appears to be due to the way acting aggressively raises testosterone levels rather than the reverse (Mazur & Booth, 1998). Testosterone levels rise upon witnessing (Bernhardt et al 1998) or anticipating (Neave & Wolfson, 2003) aggression, even in as subtle a form as team sports.

Oh please! I only WISH men had to go what we do just for one day! Maybe they would be more understanding then.

id like to see a man push out a 10 pound watermelon through an opening in their crotch. that would be the day. then id sit back and eat a king sized snickers. mmm... chocolate....

my flute playing fluxuates from day to day anyway. like right now i cant play at all. but yesterday i was belting it out so whatever.

and proof with the whole pain tolerance thing... i have a torn rotator cuff. hurts? yes. when i move it? oh my god. my boyfriend had a similar injury a few years ago but not as bad. and he whined and whined and whined and took so much pain medication for it. and i sit back and laugh. because i dont use anything for it. and he goes how can you live from day to day like that? mmm... my little secret.
