Can't see anything peculiar at that site. A guy selling a flute, a stand and a book for 130 GBP. He says also that the price is sexy, for some reason only known to him, IMO. Am I missing something else?

You don't find it odd that he refers to the price as sexy? Is that some sort of saying overseas that I am not aware of? I find it pretty funny.

Oh yes! But really I i find it more "creative" than odd, to call a price sexy, while meaning it to be "attractive".

But it could well be a difference in how each one perceives the metaphore or also the value each language assigns to this word. Or could it also be that I am losing my sense of humour!

I had doubts about being at the right Ebay site, that is why I asked. But it was a candid question and I thank you for the clarification.

I guess when I hear the word sexy, I am thinking of something else that has nothing to do with flutes.

Yes indeed, though the interest could be relative (JJ). Consider this:

In my mother tongue common nouns have gender. Price, Stand and Book are masculine, contrary to Flute, that is feminine.

So a "price" does not appear sexy to me, but it does to my wife (based on her reaction to the price discount season).

But the flute really could be more evocative and this is probably why I chose this instrument among all other winds. Clarinet, Hautbois/Oboe and Bassoon are all "males". Unfortunately, in this particular case on Ebay, "she" is accompanied by to male fellows and so she loses a great deal of her attractiveness.

Metals are other story, some are masculine, as the Trombone and the Horn. But although the Trumpet is feminine, I cannot imagine a romance with such an strident voice. And not to speak of the Tuba, "she" can only be feminine in the dictionary.

Well, do not take this seriously I am just joking and playing the fetishist.
