I talked to the guy who actually played that once (obviously that's not Will Ferrell playing in that scene)...He was a really cool person, and a very talented player.

Yaeh Chris,

There is actually also another video on You Tube of the original flutist playing it. It's also a pretty neat video, and obviously not quite as silly. Laughter is such a good thing to keep around.

Rhapsody in Blue has to have one of the greatest openings ever! I love Gershwin!

It does have one of the greatest openings but as a clarinet player I always cringe when we have to play Rhapsody. The gliss is soooo hard to get to sound good.

thanks for all the replies. i didnt realise that the the flute is a jazz insturment. lol. all i need to remember now is either buy a jazz music book (or order) or ask my music teacher for jazz music.

(sorry for liking jazz better than the blues)

*shivers* Rhapsody in Blue.
That was most definitely our marching music this year. Or should I say.. IS our marching music.

Our football team (even though they aren't too great this year) made playoffs because some other team lost, making their record worse than ours. Yes, that's right.

So we have our next football game tomorrow night and we get to march the first movement (even though we've only had one rehearsal this week and haven't marched Rhapsody for months.. it's going to be a disaster.)

I'm nervous : /

Heh. But, on topic. Yes! I'm in our jazz band We have three "jazz flutes"... It's pretty incredible !

I'm in my school jazz band and I play the flute. Thing is you can never hear the flutes in our band because of the sax's and trumpets.
