Hi all, I'm just wondering about the Chaminade piece Op.107 No. 7. I was talking to a friend who also plays the flute and for the middle section he said that it was to be played at only about 100bpm, and although the demi triplets are hard to play, i play them at about 150bpm. What do you suggest as the speed for that section?

Patrick's right as always, but there are also TONS of recordings of the Chaminade. It's one of the most played (Some would say overplayed) pieces in the flute repertoire, so you should listen to a few for interpretation ideas, and tempo.

I played Chaminade this summer for my recital...
And I've played the triplets like how Galway played it!!!
So I suggest you to listen to the recording of Galway.
