Well, you shouldn't have to change your embouchure drastically. Changing registers will require slight manipulations of air, but the basic embouchure remains the same. If the notes literally won't speak, I would check for leaks. Can you produce these pitches in the lower octave? I would suspect a bent G# key or something in that general vicinity. A visit to a tech could likely right this problem if it's an issue with the flute. If it's been to a good tech recently, perhaps you're over- or under-blowing these particular pitches. Try playing chromatically up to these pitches, while focusing on not changing the way you're using your air or embouchure. If it's an open hole (French) flute, be sure you're either covering the holes, or have plugs in those keys that cause particular difficulty.

hum... if that's the problem of the flute per se... um do you guys send ur flutes to repair shops every once in a while? i mean, i've never done that, thinking that eventhough my flute is about 6 years old... it's still in very good condition except for the physically visible oldness you can see...what do u suggest?

Yes, it's very important to send your flute to a tech at least once per year (more often may be in order if issues arise or if you play more or harder than usual). A COA (Clean, Oil, and Adjust) should be performed annuallyl, and an overhaul once every 3-5 years. Since it's been 6 years, an overhaul is likely in order, though your tech will be the only one who can tell you for sure. Changes can take place very slowly, and you probably won't notice small leaks that start opening, or the fact that the headjoint cork needs replacement, etc. as you'll probably compensate subconsciously, so sending it to a tech ensures these things are caught at the early stages. Visually a flute can look brand new, but still be full of leaks. Inversely, a flute can be completely black from tarnish, and work beautifully. Visual inspections probably will only reveal cosmetic issues to the untrained eye. My flutes (at least the two I play most) go to visit a tech roughly every 6-8 months. That may not be necessary for you, but they should go in at least once per year.
