I haven't been on in a while with school and stuff, but I wanted to let everyone know that I sent off my Pearl to be COA'd and have a couple pads replaced...It came back in the most remarkable playing condition I have ever heard! I had just gotten back from the Florida Flute Fair, where I had chosen the instrument that was going to eventually replace my flute (a Jack Moore, eventhough he wasn't at the convention...a friend of mine plays on one, and compared to everyone there, it rocked!). Now that I got it back I think I will be quite happy with it for a while! It will definitely get me through undergrad and most likely even Masters.
BTW Flutist06...I did try Tom Green whilst I was there. Tom seemed less than enthusiastic about being there, and to top it off, I didn't think his flutes were that amazing. There were two Pearls, one silver and one gold, that played better than any of his. I also didn't like the funky C# trill key...eek! I could slip a finger and entirely screw some passage up. LOL I am glad that they work for you, though. My top faves were Pearl, Nagahara, and Brannen.

Glad to hear your Pearl came back in such good shape! It's amazing what a little time with a tech can do, isn't it?
Well, Tom is a little bit awkward at those types of things. I remember when I bought my flute from him I felt a little uncomfortable talking to him, but once he gets to know you, he's a really nice guy. As for the flutes, there's no problem with not liking them. They play amazingly (or at least the one I own does) for me, but I can't expect that they would be everyone's top choice. I absolutely love having the C# trill where it is, though. It takes a little getting used to, but it's a lot more convenient, especially when you're trying to use it in combination with the other trills. Did you get a chance to try his new ergonomic foot, or one with the gizmo on the left of the D# spatula? I'd be interested to know what you thought of these comfort-wise.
